Who Are We
JumpSTART Your Career students are:
- Women entering or re-entering the workforce after an absence due to child or elder care or a change in circumstances
- Women desiring to change jobs/careers
- Single mothers trying to find productive work with flexibility
- Employees of downsized companies who are forced to seek new opportunities
- Women who simply feel they are in dead-end jobs and aspire to more
- 80% are divorced; ages range from 35-65; 50% have children living at home
What Are We
Through weekly two-hour workshops JumpSTART Your Career seeks to help women match their skills, interests and abilities to compatible career opportunities. The six-week course is designed to empower women to develop positive attitudes and learn to prepare, package and promote their strengths successfully.
Workshop classes are offered to all women of all ages at no cost as are childcare services during class hours (when available).Workshop facilitators lead class discussions and guest speakers address a variety of work related topics.

Funding
Funding for the JumpSTART Your Career program comes from private and corporate contributions and grants from foundations as well as in-kind donations of speaker and facilitator time and donations of facility use and childcare at the facility when available.
